Position Summary: We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented professional to manage our accounting, financial planning, and human resources. This role is ideal for a small business looking for a single point of accountability across these critical functions. The successful candidate will work onsite at Rockville Technology in Vernon, CT, collaborate with the broader team, and be directly responsible for accounting and financial reporting, payroll and HR administration, and general office management.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payment allocations.
- Prepare and review aging reports, identify and resolve collection issues.
- Monitor bank accounts, reconcile statements, and ensure timely payments.
- Oversee payroll processing, payroll taxes, and compliance with financial regulations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Maintain accounting controls and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure all tax reports are completed accurately and on time.
Human Resources
- Maintain employee personnel files and confidential records.
- Administer employee benefits, payroll, and vacation requests.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and exit processes.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Assist with employee relations, incident documentation, and HR communications.
Office Management
- Assist with incoming calls and walk-ins.
- Oversee office equipment and supplies.
- Maintain and improve office systems and procedures.
- Ensure a positive office atmosphere and support other employees as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5+ years’ experience in accounting/finance and HR roles, preferably in a small business environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP, accounting, and human resource software. Specifically, Excel, PowerPoint, Infor Visual, ADP, and One Digital a plus.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- US citizenship and compliance with applicable regulations required.
